The increase in wages of workers in Western Visayas is set to take effect on June 5 this year, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-6).
Lawyer Sixto T. Rodriguez Jr., DOLE-6 director, said the effectivity of Wage Order No. RBVI-26 and Wage Order No. RB6-DW-04 is 15 days from the date of its publication.
The orders were published by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in a newspaper of general circulation on May 20.
Under Wage Order No. RBVI-26, workers in the non-agriculture, industrial and commercial establishments with more than 10 employees will receive a minimum wage of P450 per day from P395.
For companies employing less than 10 workers, the new wage rate is P420 per day from P310 from P315.
For the agriculture sector, the new minimum wage rate for plantation workers is P410 per day.
Meanwhile, under Wage Order No. RB6-DW-04, the new wage rate for kasambahays or domestic helpers in the region is P4,500 per month from P4,000.IMT
