More and more athletes from Western Visayas are being suited up for various teams in Manila.
The recent transfer involved Ilonggo spikers Lawrence Borra and John Emmanuel Dedoroy, who were new additions to the University of Santo Tomas Tiger Cubs.
Both Dedoroy and Borra from Central Philippine University (CPU) were the key for the team during the championship run in the last year’s National Private Schools Athletic Association games.
Borra, a native of Sara town, was named best setter, while Dedoroy of Dumangas was hailed as best middle blocker.
With the new Ilonggo reinforcement, the UST boys’ volleyball team is excited to see action in the next University Athletic Association of the Philippines season.
Meanwhile, Negrense volleyballer Leo Priolo Ordiales will stay to National University (NU) for his college.
The pride spiker from Talisay City confirmed to Rising Volley PH Facebook page that he will still play for NU in the UAAP.
Ordiales is one of the keys who steered Edgar Barroga-mentored NU Bullpups in winning the UAAP Season 82 volleyball boys.
He represented Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association during the 2019 Palarong Pambansa.IMT
