After successive increases, Western Visayas reported on Monday, July 6, zero new case of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The number of COVID-19 cases in the region remained at 389, latest data from the Department of Health (DOH-6) showed.
The figure includes 152 recoveries, 11 deaths, and 226 active cases.
Of the total number of patients who recovered from COVID-19, two are new: a 35-year-old male from Cauayan and a 30-year-old male from Hinobaan, both from Negros Occidental.
The active cases, meanwhile, are consist of 191 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and 35 local infections from Iloilo province (17), Iloilo City (15), Negros Occidental (2), and Capiz (1).
On June 29, the DOH-6 recorded the highest single-day increase of 33 confirmed COVID-19 cases.IMT
