The Western Visayas region recorded its highest number of patients who recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in a single day.
The Department of Health (DOH-6) reported on Thursday, May 14, 12 new recoveries, bringing the total COVID-19 survivors in the region to 54.
“This is so far the highest single-day recovery count recorded in the region,” Dr. Sophia Pulmones , DOH-6 spokesperson, said in a virtual press conference on Thursday afternoon.
The new recoveries include the following:
44-year-old female from Lambunao, Iloilo province
32-year-old female from Lambunao, Iloilo province
26-year-old male from Tigbauan (repatriate)
42-year-old male from Candoni, Negros Occidental (repatriate)
31-year-old male from Zarraga, Iloilo province
28-year-old female from Jaro district, Iloilo City
49-year-old male from Caluya, Antique
48-year-old male from Arevalo district, Iloilo City
27-year-old male from Buenavista, Guimaras (repatriate)
30-year-old male from City Proper, Iloilo City (repatriate)
24-year-old male from Nueva Valencia, Guimaras (repatriate)
28-year-old male from Mandurriao district, Iloilo City (repatriate)
On the other hand, Western Visayas’ death toll from COVID-19 remained at 10.
The region currently has 101 confirmed cases of the deadly disease. Thirty of them are repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
The number of active cases in the region stands at 37. Broken down, seven are quarantined and 10 are admitted.IMT
