The Department of Health (DOH-6) reported on Friday, July 17, 63 newly recovered patients from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This is the highest single-day increase in new recoveries recorded in Western Visayas.

Of the latest recovered patients, 33 are from Negros Occidental, 15 from Iloilo province, eight from Iloilo City, and seven from Bacolod City.

All the additional recoveries involved returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs).

The region now has a total of 345 COVID-19 survivors.

The DOH-6 also registered 17 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the number of infections in the region to 716.

Nine of the new infected patients are from Negros Occidental, six from Iloilo province and one each from Capiz and Guimaras.
