Local chief executives (LCEs) in Western Visayas welcomed the appointment of Cristine “Tin” Mansinares as the full-fledged regional director of the Department of Tourism (DOT-6).
According to Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Mansinares, who once served as tourism officer of the province, has proven herself to be an efficient and dedicated in her work over the years.
“With that, I am confident that her dedication to service will be an asset for Western Visayas. I wish her all the best,” he said.
The governor is looking forward to working more closely with the DOT- 6.
“With Tin as the newly appointed DOT-6 Regional Director, I am confident that the tourism of Negros Occidental will be given further boost and support,” he said.
Meanwhile, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said he is expecting a closer collaboration between the DOT’s regional office and the local government units (LGUs).
“I warmly welcome her appointment.”
Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. also congratulated Mansinares.
He said he is planning a meeting with the DOT-6 and other agencies for an intended project.

Mansinares vowed to continue what the regional office has started and to focus on domestic tourism program, tourism standards and enforcement, tourism product and market development, tourism policy formulation and planning, and tourism industry training program.
She added that rehabilitation and recovery of the region’s pandemic-hit tourism industry is also a priority.IMT
