Taekwondo jins from Western Visayas showed extraordinary moves as they ruled the recently-concluded 14th World Taekwondo Culture Expo.

Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (Iloilo MVP) Taekwondo Gym banked on the heroics of its veterans who captured three gold medals.

Cyd Edryc Esmana, Julianna Martha Uy, and Joshua Cachero showed impressive moves in the tournament and bannered the home of young champions to victory.

“I’m proud of the jins. Three out of three players got the gold medals and it’s a blessing,” Iloilo MVP Taekwondo coach Denmark Pinggol said.

Meanwhile, another Iloilo-based team topped the podium after stunning performances. A. Diasnes Taekwondo Gym was led by Ilonggo taekwondo jin Cindy Joy Diasnes who pocketed the gold medal.

Negros Taekwondo Union-Tiger New Gen (NTU-TNG) also won gold medals for the NTU-TNG team, courtesy of Miguel Zapata (fast kicking), Beatriz Zapata (poomsae) and Jerik Paiwas (poomsae).

Leigh Andee Rodriguez, on the other hand, settled for a silver medal finish in fast kicking category.

Team Phikoma Cadiz, meanwhile, bagged two medals — a gold courtesy of Rhiane Wyeth Llaguno in blackbelt cadet female and a bronze from Jeincis Heward Carian in blackbelt cadet male.

Bacolod City-based Hilado Bros Jins, on the other hand, also had two medalists, thanks to Cris Antoinette Hilado and Cyrus Antwayne Hilado.IMT Sports
