Almost half a million doses of vaccines against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have so far been sent to Western Visayas.
Data from the Department of Health (DOH-6) showed that the region received a total of 493, 640 vaccine doses from March to June 13 this year.
The vaccines were manufactured by China’s Sinovac and UK’s AstraZeneca.
Dr. Bea Natalaray, medical officer IV of DOH-6, said 305, 420 doses were allotted for the first jab and 188, 220 doses for the second jab.
So far, around 274,291 individuals or 16.48 percent of the 1.6 million masterlisted under Priority Group A received their first dose.
Of the figure, 144,954 were inoculated with the Sinovac vaccine and 129,337 with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Broken down per sub-category, 95,744 were frontline healthcare workers (A1 Group); 94,642 were senior citizen (A2 Group); 79,107 were persons with comorbidities (A3 Group).
Moreover, 89.81 percent of the doses allotted for the first jab were already used up. For the second jab, 48.54 percent were already utilized.
The number of fully vaccinated individuals in the region currently stands at 91,366.IMT
