Western Visayas logged 32 new deaths related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the first four days of Nov. 2020.
The Department of Health of (DOH-6) recorded two additional deaths on Nov. 1 and 15 each on Nov. 3 and 4. It registered zero deaths on Nov. 2.
These figures brought the region’s total COVID-19 death toll to 420. The breakdown is as follows: Bacolod City at 137, Iloilo City at 94, Negros Occidental at 87, Iloilo province at 63, Capiz at 29, Aklan at 8, and Antique and Guimaras at 1 each.
The DOH-6 also reported 98 new cases of COVID-19 in the region on Nov. 4, bringing the total infection count to 17,274.
The number of recovered patients likewise increased to 13,827 with 98 new survivors.
The active case count now stands at 3,023, of which 1,526 from Negros Occidental, 539 from Iloilo City, 534 from Iloilo province, 272 from Bacolod City, 130 from Capiz, 11 from Guimaras, 9 from Aklan, and 6 from Antique.IMT
