Iloilo City Mayor Treñas said the victory of Tribu Parianon at the Aliwan Fiesta 2023 “brought honor and glory to all Ilonggos.”

Tribu Parianon, which represented the Dinagyang Festival, emerged champion in the Streetdance Competition of the national event.

The competition was held in Pasay City on Saturday, July 15. It was participated in by 13 festivals from across the country.

“Once again we have shown everyone that we are number 1. Congratulations to all Ilonggos wherever you are! We do all this for the glory of our Lord!” Treñas said in a statement.

The mayor also congratulated the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc (IFFI), the main organizer of the world-famous Dinagyang Festival.

“While you are from the private sector you have given so much of your time , effort and resources for our celebrations and festivals,” he said.

In an interview over radio station RMN-Iloilo, Tribu Parianon choreographer Ramil Huyatid said they focused on dance routines rather than props.

“Sa meeting namon nga mga choreographer naghambal na ang chief judge nga ‘labanan ng sayaw’ ang kumpetisyon kag indi sang mga dalagko kag matag-as nga mga props,” he said.

“That is why nga sa Iloilo pa lang it was already a wise decision ang gin-obra sang IFFI nga there will be no propsmen, no riser, no panels nga dapat sa saot gid ang labanay,” Huyatid further said.IMT
