Georgia International Academy, an educational institution under the Villar Group of Companies, was among the three private schools in Iloilo province that decided to permanently close.

Located in Savannah Subdivision in the town of Oton, the international school was founded in 2008.

The two others were Speed Headstart School also in Oton, and Mother Nature Child Development Learning Center in Pavia.

The closures, according to DepEd-6, were mainly due to the low number of enrollees and financial woes.

Georgia International Academy in Antipolo City, Rizal and Cagayan de Oro also decided to permanently close.

In a report by GMA News, school officials promised to refund the tuition paid by parents.IMT
