Jamindan Mayor Mac Arthur Valdemar said he would utilize the amount of P2.3 million for the improvements of tourist destinations in his town.
“Ang P2.3 million cash award gikan sa DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government) nga sa diin and banwa sa Jamindan nangin awardee sa Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), amo ang gamiton naton para sa improvements sang tourist destinations sang Jamindan,” Valdemar told IMT News.
Specifically he said the amount will also be spent for the improvement of facilities at Suhuton Cave.
Suhoton Cave is in Bgry. Agcagay, some 1.5 to 2 kilometers away from the town proper.
Valdemar said he already requested funds from the Department of Tourism (DOT) for the improvement roads leading some their tourist destinations such as water falls inside the military reservation and in Brgy. San Jose.
The mayor thanked Vice Mayor Ildefonso Cusay and other members of the Sangguniang Bayan aw well as all the department heads and his constituents for their support.
The towns of Dao and Jamindan were also recipients of the award.
It was learned that the municipalities of Dao, Dumarao and Jamindan won the said awards given by the DILG.IMT
