Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) restrictions in Iloilo City will be further loosened as the metropolis jumpstarts its economy’s recovery from the pandemic.
The city is currently under general community quarantine (GCQ), a less restrictive form of lockdown.
“Maskin ara kita sa GCQ kag wala sa modified GCQ, we will allow more economic activities,” Treñas said on Thursday, Oct. 29.
The mayor announced that starting on Sunday, Nov. 1, curfew in the city will be lifted.
“Nagapati kita nga ang pumuluyo sa syudad, after 7 or 8 months, daw sufficient naman siguro nga maintindihan nila ang minimum health standards,” he said.
Treñas will also allow convenience stores, fast food restaurants, and jeepneys to operate 24 hours a day.
Liquor ban, meanwhile, will remain in effect.
As of Thursday, the city, according to the Department of Health (DOH-6), recorded 3,952 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 3,175 have recovered, 86 have died, and 691 are active cases.IMT
