Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas will be in Manila on Friday, July 8, to attend a meeting with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

“Nag-imbitar ang Presidente sa tanan nga mga city mayors para nga maka-estorya man sya,” said Treñas.

The meeting will also be attended by officials of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Treñas said the meeting will be a chance for him to bring up the city’s concerns and issues.

In a press briefing on Friday, July 8, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said Marcos, who tested positive for COVID-19 through an antigen test, will virtually attend and address the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) meeting.

Treñas, meanwhile, disclosed that he has been offered to serve as “special adviser to the president of LCP.”

Last month, Rama said he is interested to lead LCP. “The national knows about it. It’s not something new to me. It’s a delayed thing already. In 2010, I have already been offering.”IMT
