Mayor Jerry Treñas does not see any problem if one of President Bongbong Marcos’ sons decides to run for an elective post in Iloilo City.
In a media interview, Treñas Treñas said everybody has the right to run for any elective public position, as long as they are qualified under the 1987 Constitution.
Senator Imee Marcos, the President’s sister, earlier revealed that her nephews have plans to run for government posts in Iloilo and Mindanao in 2025.
“Ang alam ko yung anak ni Bongbong, tatakbo sa Iloilo tapos may tatakbo yata sa Mindanao,” she said in a TV interview.
The presidential sister, however, did not give further details about the plans.
The President’s eldest son, Sandro, currently serves as congressman of Ilocos Norte’s First District while his youngest son, William Vincent or Vinny, works as a special assistant to his uncle, House Speaker Martin Romualdez.The middle child, Joseph Simon, is out of the limelight.IMT
