Mayor Jerry Treñas is not discounting the possibility of declaring social media personality Jam Magno as persona non grata for her unsavory remarks against Ilongga Beauty Queen Rabiya Mateo.
On Sunday May 16, Treñas was asked of his reaction to an online clamor demanding to declare Magno as an unwanted and unwelcome person in the city.
The mayor responded: “If Ilonggos think she (Magno) deserves it, why not?”
Magno, a known supporter of the administration of President Rodrigo duterte, has been critical of Mateo, the country’s official representative to the Miss Universe 2020 pageant.
She became one of the trending topics on Twitter on Saturday, May 15, because of her comment against the national costume of Rabiya Mateo.
In response to Treñas’ statement, Magno said: “Funny how so many are critical of Rabiya saying much worse things than me. And yet you all focus on just me. You can keep Ilo-ilo. Since I doubt you’ll get the Universe anyway.”
