Mayor Jerry Treñas is offering rewards for the arrest of drug pushers in Iloilo City as part of efforts to combat illegal drugs.
“I will be rewarding all PNP (Philippine National Police) units that will be able to arrest drug pushers in the city,” Treñas said in a statement.
The mayor assured PNP that the city government would “give all out support to their anti-drug campaign.”
Meanwhile, Treñas said all City Hall job hires “were already required to submit themselves to drug testing.”
“Another drug test will be required soon,” he added.
The mayor noted that out of 180 city barangays, 93 have already been declared free of drugs and “are steadfast in ensuring and maintaining their drug cleared status.”
