Mayor Jerry Treñas issued on Tuesday, June 6, a “last warning” against erring traffic enforcers in Iloilo City.
Any enforcer “caught at the sides of the streets smoking or texting or conversing with” their colleagues, according to Treñas, “will be immediately dismissed from the service.”
In a radio interview, Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) chief Jeck Conlu disclosed that they have been receiving photos of enforcers neglecting their duties.
He said he had already instructed traffic supervisors to strictly monitor those enforcers under them.
Currently, the city government employs more than 380 traffic enfrorcers.IMT
