A transport group in Iloilo City has opposed the proposal to impose higher fines for traffic violations.
In a legislative inquiry, the City Loop Integrated Alliance of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association (CLIAJODA) objected the proposed hike.
CLIAJODA president Rizal Alido said imposing hefty fines on violators will not address traffic problems in the city.
The city government should intead focus on the professionalization of its traffic enforcers to better manage the traffic in the metropolis.
The legislative inquiry was conducted by Councilor Sedfrey Cabaluna, chairman of the committee on transportation.IMT
