South Koreans topped the list of foreign tourists who visited Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan in the first 15 days of July this year.

Based on data from the Department of Tourism (DOT-6), a total of 100,447 tourists arrived on the world-famous resort island from July 1 to 15 .

Of the figure, more than 79,000 were local tourists and more than 18,000 were international visitors.

According to DOT-6, most of the foreign tourists were South Koreans, followed by Americans and Chinese. 

This year, the region’s tourism department aims to attract at least 4.5 million local and foreign visitors, higher by almost half compared to its 2022 target of 2.3 million.IMT
