YouTube sensation Marissa “Small” Laude will visit Iloilo City to experience the grand celebration of this year’s Dinagyang Festival.
The famous entrepreneur-vlogger is confirmed to grace the festival’s cultural presentation at the Freedom Grandstand on Sunday morning, Jan. 22, according to City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
Laude is married to business tycoon Philip Laude. They own, among others, Candyman, the confectionery makers behind Kendi Mint, White Rabbit, Orange Kist, and Viva.
First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos will also arrive in the city to witness the world-renowned festival.
Treñas said the presence of personalities to experience the much-awaited return of the face-to-face Dinagyang Festival will help in the city’s economic promotions.
Other expected guests are Senators Maria Imelda Josefa Remedios “Imee” R. Marcos, Jose “JV” P. Ejercito, and Francis Tolentino.
Thirteen diplomats will also join the celebration.
The Dagyang sa Barangay Tribes Competition, one of the major events of the festival, will feature eight groups: Tribu Molave, Tribu Parianon, Tribu Panaad, Tribu Familia Sagrada, Tribu Sagasa, Tribu Ilonggohanon, Tribu Kanyao sang Baybayanon, and Tribu Halimau.IMT
