The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) has issued a show-cause order against two Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth-6) top officials over the alleged failure of the state insurer to pay reimbursement claims of seven hospitals in Iloilo City.
PhilHealth-6 regional director Atty. Valerie Anne H. Holero and PhilHealth-6 area vice president Alfredo B. Pineda were directed to explain the the delay in payment.
The two officials must submit their explanation with supporting relevant documents of the above charge within a period of seven working days from receipt of the order.
ARTA Deputy Director General for Legal USec. Eduardo V. Bringas said if Holero and Pineda failed to submit their explanation within the said period, they may face charges for violating Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
The seven health care institutions are Iloilo Mission Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital of Iloilo, Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital, Medicus Medical Center, The Medical City of Iloilo, Qualimed Hospital Iloilo and the Metro Iloilo Hospital, and Medical Center Inc.
They claimed that PhilHealth owed them at least P690.02, which is supposed to have been paid by the end of October.IMT
