Iloilo City Councilor Lyndon Acap will file an ordinance seeking to reduce the number of working days for City Hall employees.
Acap said he is planning to shorten the work week from five days to four days or four days and a half.
Fewer work days, according to the councilor, would enable employees to allocate more time for their families and friends.
“Tungod ini sa mental health problems. One of the major solutions ang paghatag daku panahon sa aton pamilya kay no. 1 gid nga guidance counselor naton ang aton mga parents,” Acap said.
“So I am getting into an idea nga mashorten ang working days in a week sang mga empleyado,” he further said.
According to Acap, the proposed measure is still being crafted. “It will be filed once done.”
City Mayor Jerry Treñas is not in favor of Acap’s proposed measure.
He said there are offices at the City Hall that “must be always open.”IMT
