The province and city of Iloilo received relief assistance from Vice President Leni Robredo.

The relief goods, which are meant for victims of Typhoon Odette, were personally turned over by Robredo to Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. and City Mayor Jerry Trenas on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

The province got 1,000 sacks of rice while the city got 500 sacks of rice, 49 boxes of canned goods, and hygiene kits.

Odette, the strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, affected 38, 967 families or 144, 434 individuals in Iloilo province and 1, 193 families or 4, 329 individuals in Iloilo City.

It also damaged 9, 646 houses in the province, displacing 9, 796 families or 36, 204 individuals.
