Quarantine passes are still necessary even if the province of Iloilo is now under general community quarantine (GCQ).

Executive Order (EO) No. 118 requires all persons travelling within the province to secure their GCQ passes.

The EO, which enforces GCQ over the entire province, was issued by Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. yesterday, May 15.

From ECQ (enhanced community qurantine), Iloilo’s quarantine status has been downgraded to GCQ.

The passes are intended primarily for “household providers” or those who are “accessing basic necessities” and for “necessity providers” or those who “work and/or conduct business in the additional allowed establishments, industries, and livelihood sectors.”

“Movement for leisure purposes shall not be allowed,” the EO stated.

Only mayors and/or punong barangays are authorized to issue the GCQ pass.

“The existing ECQ passes issued to household and necessity providers under the ECQ, shall remain valid and continue to be honored for the purposes of all requirements under the GCQ,” the EO stated.

The ECQ and GCQ passes “shall be valid and honored in all barangays, municipilities and a component city in the province.”

Those below 21 years old, 60 years old and above, with immunodeficiency, comorbidities and/or other health risks, and pregnant women are “required to remain in their residences at all times.”

They may only go out of their houses, according to the EO “if no other persons in their family can be designated.”

The province did not lift its border and travel restictions. Those outside the province will be denied entry until May 31.

Who are allowed to enter the province?

Residents of Iloilo City and Guimaras province entering the province should show any valid government-issued ID showing proof of residence.

Oversease Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals are also eligible to enter the province subject to strict quarantine protocols.IMT
