Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, Police Regional Office (PRO-6) director, assured protection for media practitioners in Western Visayas.

This, after the brutal killing of Percival “Percy Lapid” Mabasa, a broadcaster known for his hard-hitting criticism of government officials, on Monday, Oct. 3.

Sila ba ay may threat na natatanggap,” the new regional director said in an interview on IMT Conversations.

Francisco condemned the murder of Mabasa who was shot by two unidentified assailants at the gate of a subdivision along Aria St. in Barangay Talon Dos, Las Piñas City.

He was hoping for a speedy resolution of the murder case.
