Several areas in Iloilo City will experience a 13-hour brownout on Sunday, May 17.

Specifically, the scheduled brownout, based on an advisory issued by power distributor MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power), will affect parts of the city being served by the Jaro substation.

Roel Castro, MORE Power president, said the interruption, which will start from 4 a.m. until 5 p.m., is needed to give way to maintenance works.

“We have to undertake maintenance works to prevent longer and unscheduled brownouts,” he explained.
