Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office (RDO) No. 72 head Eralen De Aro said the bureau will identify local taxpayers with low compliance for them to pay the correct taxes.

This was among the strategies laid down by De Aro after the unveiling and launching of the “Pananaw 2020” tax campaign logo and theme on March 2 here.

She said the tax campaign theme “Pananaw 2020: Mahusay na Serbisyo, Ramdam na Pagbabago” is an expression of the Bureau’s vision for the year 2020 which is to continue providing excellent service to taxpayers.

“Just like someone who has a 20/20 vision, the BIR will remain focused and steadfast in the implementation of its programs and projects to bring about the promised change of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s administration that is to provide a better, decent and comfortable life for all law – abiding Filipinos,” she stressed.

The province’s top tax official said that a stepped up campaign on Run After Tax Evaders, Oplan Kandado and conduct of audit and investigation programs, among others, will be pursued by the RDO to further improve collections.

“The District is tasked to collect P1.365 billion for 2020,” she said, adding that the tax campaign for this year in the province was off to a good start with P142,069,000.00 actual collection in January vis-à-vis P123,500,000.00 tax goal.

De Aro also thanked the support of the taxpayers in 2019 which contributed in the revenue collection of P1.194 – billion last year.

“We are appealing to you that you will be remitting your taxes on time because we knew that a compliant taxpayer will always make a difference to our revenue generation,” she noted.

The “Pananaw 2020” tax campaign will also be rolled out in the municipalities. PIA-Capiz
