Vice Mayor Jesry Palmares is expecting that Passi City will get big projects from the national government under the leadership of presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Marcos won the presidential race in Iloilo province’s component city. He earned 20,680 votes while his closest rival, Vice President Leni Robredo, got 20,540 votes.
Palmares, Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party provincial chairperson, said he was happy that Marcos topped the presidential race in the city.
Marcos, the 64-year-old son and namesake of the country’s former dictator, garnered more than 31 million votes nationwide.
According to Palmares, Marcos’ victory will bring in big projects to the city. These include the construction of circumferential roads and the repair of bridges.
