Typhoon Rolly, the world’s strongest tropical cyclone for 2020 so far, will not directly affect Western Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, Oct. 31.
But the storm, according to engineer Rolando Naragdao of PAGASA, is expected to bring light to moderate rains over the region.
The center of the typhoon is forecast to make landfall over Quezon province’s Polillo Island and mainland Quezon on Sunday evening, Nov. 1 or early Monday morning, Nov. 2
Naragdao advised the public to be vigilant, especially those residing in areas prone to flooding and landslides.

It was last tracked packing maximum sustained winds of 215 kph near the center and gusts of up to 265 kph. It is moving west southwestward at 20 kph.
Under PAGASA’s classification, a super typhoon carries maximum wind speeds of at least 220 kph.IMT
