PAGASA lifts storm signal in Iloilo; Auring weakens into LPA

There are no more areas in Iloilo under any tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS).

TCWS No.1 was lifted in Iloilo City and the northern and central portions of Iloilo province as Tropical Depression Auring weakened into a low pressure area (LPA).

Based on the weather bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, the LPA was last spotted over the coastal waters of Rapu-Rapu, Albay.

It is forecast to move northwestward to westward and may traverse the Bicol region, southern Quezon, Marinduque, and northern Mindoro in the next 24 hours.

“There is an increasing likehood of the disturbance dissipating while traversing southern Luzon,” said the weather state bureau.

PAGASA also lifted Signal No. 1 which was hoisted over the northern and central areas of Negros Occidental, Bacolod City, Capiz, Guimaras, and the eastern portion of Aklan.IMT
