Various operating units of Police Regional Office (PRO-6) confiscated P7.94 million worth of drugs in seven days.

From Feb. 6 to 12, “we conducted 46 operations on illegal drugs regionwide and we have arrested 64 drug personalities and confiscated 1,116.11 grams of shabu,” PRO-6 spokesperson Maj. Grace Borio said in an interview on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

Based on data provided by PRO-6, the highest confiscation was through the Bacolod City Police Office with P4.58 worth of shabu and the Capiz Police Provincial Office with P1.82 million.

The Aklan Police Provincial Office has confiscated P17,952; Iloilo Police Provincial Office, P603,160; Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, P355,640; and Iloilo City Police Office, P550,800 worth of shabu.

The spokesperson, in quoting PRO-6 regional director Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, said the situation of illegal drugs in the region is not alarming compared with other regions in the country.

“Cases have been filed against 64 suspects within 36 hours after operation and arrest, the case has to be filed otherwise they will be released,” she added.

Borio added that the regional director continues to appeal to the public for their support in the campaign by providing information on illegal drugs in their community.

She assured that the identity of the informants will always be protected for their safety and security.PNA
