Over P10M worth of shabu seized in Estancia

Authorities recovered illegal drugs worth more than P10 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tacbuyan, Estancia, Iloilo on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The operation led to the arrest of an alias “Rene,” 43, of Novaliches, Quezon City; and his 22-year-old accomplice who resides in Barangay Gogo.

The two suspects yielded 38 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.6 kilogram with an estimated value of P10,880,000.

Lieutenant Renzo Martinez, Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS) chief, said alias Rene is a high-value target and has long been on the drug watch list.

The anti-drug operation was conducted by operatives of Estancia MPS and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU).

According to Police Brigadier General Sidney N Villaflor, Police Regional Office (PRO-6) director, the arrest of alias Rene was a “huge accomplishment.”

“Sa pagkakakumpiska ng ganito ka daming iligal na droga ay marami na naman tayong naisalbang buhay at kinabukasan,” he said

“Sa ating mga mamamayan sana po ay huwag kayong magsawa na tulungan ang ating mga kapulisan sa pagbibigay ng mga impormasyon para sa tuloy-tuloy na pagdakip sa mga gumagamit o nagbebenta ng iligal na droga, magtulungan po tayo tungo sa kapayapaan at kaunlaran,” Villaflor added.IMT
