More than 3,000 fugitives were arrested in Western Visayas in the first six months of 2023, according to the Police Regional Office (PRO-6).
From January to June this year, police units in the region apprehended a total of 3,337 persons wanted for various criminals.
The figure was higher compared to 2,973 fugitives arrested in the same period last year.
Police Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, mainly attributed the increase in the number of arrests to their strengthened intelligence-driven operations.IMT
