The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-6) has removed 12, 949 families in Western Visayas from the list of beneficiaries of its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The delisted beneficiaries are no longer qualified to continue availing of the government’s conditional cash transfer (CCT) program, according to Belen Gebusion, Regional Program Coordinator/Division Chief of DSWD-6.
She said that majority or around 11, 500 have no more children eligible for monitoring under the program as they have all graduated from schools while the rest are already economically sufficient and socially adequate.
The DSWD officer noted that cleansing the list of 4Ps beneficiaries is a regular activity of the department as the Pantawid Pamilya Information System (PPIS) is updated every month.
Meanwhile, Gabusion said there are asome 1, 500 Pantawid beneficiaries who are subject for evaluation because of their alleged non-compliance to the 4Ps conditions.
They have been given a year to undergo case management, counseling, and discussion as to the program’s conditions. If they continue to be non-complaint after the period, they will be recommended for delisting.
4Ps is a poverty reduction strategy of the government under DSWD that provides grants to extremely poor households to improve their health, nutrition and education particularly of children aged 0-14.IMT
