Footballers from Ceres-Negros FC made an outstanding performance in the 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL) after blanking Philippine Air Force FC, 12-0, at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite, July 14.
The Busmen were led by midfielder Mike Ott who scored four impressive goals within 12 minutes of the ball game. Teammates Bienvenido Marañón and Stephan Schröck each notching a hat trick for the Bacolod City-based team.
Marañón drew first blood in the fourth minute, while midfielder Miguel Tanton doubled the lead in the seventh minute, before Schröck started his scoring spree in the ninth.
In the 22nd minute, Schröck went on to earn a brace after a successful header to give Ceres FC a 4-0 blitz.
Before the end of the first half, Marañón completed a hat trick after scoring two successful goals and gave the winning squad a comfortable 6-0 advantage.
Striker Curt Dizon also stepped up his game and scored another goal in the 67th minute. Schröck and Ott then fired off their own goals to secure Ceres-Negros’ victory.
With the win, Ceres-Negros tied with Kaya FC Iloilo on top of the standing with 19 points after the latter blasted Stallion Laguna, 1-0.IMT
