The Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) on Tuesday, Dec. 17, released the official poster of the 52nd edition of the world-famous Dinagyang Festival.
“This is the first time that the Dinagyang artistic team really shot a winning tribe warrior with Señor Sto. Niño – the reason why we celebrate this festival,” the IFFI said.
The warrior, who belongs to Tribu Ilonganon, “represents the warm and happy nature of the Ilonggos.”
Tribu Ilonganon of Jalandoni Memorial National High School is the festival’s defending champion.
The new Dinagyang logo, designed by Jong Combong Pijuan and her team, is also incorporated in the design.
“The poster marks a fresh approach to Dinagyang with its new 360 degrees – arena type – performance,” the IFFI said.
Designed by Ilonggo filmmaker Elvert Bañares, the poster first appeared on the festival’s official Facebook page Tuesday evening.
The celebration of Iloilo Dinagyang 2020 is set to officially kick off on Jan. 10.
“The arena type performance will be tested during the opening salvo where all eight competing tribes will give us a glimpse of what is to be expected,” the IFFI said.
“Each tribe will showcase moves inspired by endemic species of Iloilo,” it added.
The grand highlight of the festival is on Jan. 26.IMT
