The Iloilo City Government lifted the liquor ban and curfew hours as cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continue to decrease.

Under Executive Order (EO) No. 016-2022, the consumption of alcoholic drinks in public places will be allowed effective Feb. 18.

The EO, which extends the city’s Alert Level 3 status, also lifted the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew.

“Cases are already going down. Economic activities must be slowly allowed to have more jobs,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas.

However, he stressed that the minimum health protocols, particularly physical distancing, and the existing restrictions imposed through local ordinances such as “Liquor Ban for Minors” must still be followed.

Compliance officers will be deployed to conduct regular random inspections to ensure proper compliance of business establishments in the city.

Appropriate penalties and possible administrative and/or criminal charges will be filed against establishments and individuals who will be found violating the protocols.
