There is no final decision yet on whether the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Iloilo City will be extended, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.
Treñas said the decision will be made by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID).
“Whatever the decision is, as a local government unit, we have to follow the directive of the national government,” he said.
“In times like this, we have to work together in order for our efforts to bring positive results,” Treñas stressed.
The mayor said if the lockdown will be extended, “this will give us more time to prepare for our exit plan.”
The city has been placed under ECQ since March 21 to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The lockdown was supposed to end on April 15 but Treñas extended it until April 30.IMT
