Another local talents will bring their ace game in the national arena as three players from Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts have committed to San Beda University Lady Red Spikers.
Negrenses Sophie Cagalawan, Gwen Toledo Banas and Amber Lily Biong formalized their commitment with the NCAA-based squad after being approached by a San Beda team official months ago.
To recall, the trio underwent successful volleyball program under the Thunderbolts.
According to Cagalawan, to be able to play and study in a prestigious school like San Beda is a huge opportunity for her. “It was a dream for me to play in Manila for college and I am glad that San Beda allowed me to fulfill that.”
For Banas, the inclusion means a realization of her life goals. “I will surely not waste this opportunity by being a good teammate to my fellow Bedans and helping the school to win games to the best of my abilities.”
“I will be fully committed to the role that will be given to me as libero. I will aim for continuous skill improvement and can assure you to perform to the best of my abilities with consistency,” Biong said.
The three volleybelles will join other Western Visayas players in the Lady Red Spikers roster following the addition of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental-native Jaschryl Casugod earlier this year.IMT Sports
