A Negrense boxer from Hinobaan town pulled off a stunner after scoring a knockout against his foe in the fifth round of the “ALA on Tour: Bakbakan sa Passi” fight card at the City of Passi Arena on July 30.
Danny Villafuerte successfully maintained his unblemished record after blasting Christian Capuno in Passi City.
The Negros boxer showed solid combinations to sleep Capuno in the middle of the fifth round with the referee stopping the match.
With the victory, Villafuerte improved his record to 3-0-0, all of which via stoppages, while the Bukidnon-native Capuno suffered his first loss and dropped to 2-1-0 win-loss-draw record.
Meanwhile, Mabinay-native Romnick Magos suffered a fourth round technical knockout to Filipino-Japanese fighter Go Hosaka.
The 28-year-old Magos tasted his fifth straight loss in the ring to slid down to 12-10-0, including seven stoppage wins. Hosaka maintained his unbeaten run to 3-0-0, with two KO wins.
