The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) listed areas in Western Visayas under COVID-19 alert levels.

The provinces of Antique and Negros Occidental are classified under Alert Level 2 from April 15 to 30.

Area under Alert Level 2 must implement restrictions such as a 50 percent capacity in establishments indoors for fully vaccinated adults and 70 percent capacity outdoors.

The province and city of Iloilo, Aklan, Bacolod City, Capiz, and Guimaras are under Alert Level 1, the lowest status in the government’s COVID-19 alert system.

The towns Anini-y, Barbaza, San Jose (Capital), Sebaste, and Tobias Fornier (Dao) in Antique; and Cadiz City, Candoni, City of Himamaylan, City of Talisay, City of Victorias, Enrique B. Magalona (Saravia), Ilog, La Carlota City, Murcia, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Sagay City, San Enrique, Silay City, Valladolid in Occodental Negros are also under Alert Level 1.

Areas under Alert Level 1 permits intrazonal and interzonal travel with no restrictions based on age and co-morbidities.

IATF released on Sunday, April 23, Resolution No. 6-C series of 2023 approving the recommendation of the sub-Technical Working Group for Data Analytics placing several areas under alert levels.

The resolution was signed by Department of Health officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire and Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos.IMT
