Showing a great atheticism, a boxer from Negros Occidental successfully retained his belt after beating his opponent over the weekend.
Kabankalan City’s Roldan Aldea defended his Games and Amusement Board (GAB) lightweight belt after a stoppage in the second round of their clash at the Flash Grand Ballroom, located at the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.
Aldea’s opponent, Monico Laurente, chose not to continue the fight after the second round after receiving solid punches from the Negrense pug.
With the victory, the Negrense boxer improved to a 15-8-1 win-loss-draw record, along with notching his ninth stoppage win. Laurente, on the other hand, dropped to 30-17-0 with seven knockout wins.
In the other main event, Carlo Caesar Peñalosa of San Carlos City failed to clinch the GAB flyweight title against Alphoe Dagayloan after the judges ruled the result a draw.
After the bout, Peñalosa cruised to a 14-2-1 win-loss-draw record with seven knockout victories, while Dagayloan’s slate stands at 14-3-6 with five stoppage wins. IMT
