Negrense ballers continued to impress the crowd in the international league as they made stunning performance in the hard court. 

Silay City native Harold Alarcon was recently named ‘Most Valuable Player’ during the 2019 Basketball without Borders-Asia (BWB-Asia) All-Star Game in Tokyo, Japan. 

BWB, a global basketball development and community outreach program, was organized by the NBA and FIBA.

According to Alarcon, he really learned a lot in the BWB-Asia experience as it gave him opportunity to showcase his basketball prowess.

The former Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) sentinel led his East All-Star team to dismantle West All-Star team, 42-37. Along with fellow Pinoy player Joshua Rafael Lazaro, other Filipino players invited in the BWB-Asia event were Florence Jil Talas, Kristine Cayabyab, and Joachim Eddie Laure. 

Meanwhile, another Negrense cager showed up his sterling moves in the recent NBA 5v5 tournament in Shanghai, China. 

Mark Nonoy paced University of Santo Tomas (UST) to finish second, despite losing to Zhongtian Qilin Society in the finals, 86-67. 

UST made series of jump shots in the early going but Zhongtian made a crippling run into the fourth period. Down by 10 points, UST managed to narrow the gap to 62-55 with four minutes left in the game. Zhongtia erupted on a 23-10 run as they cruised to their largest lead of 21 points. Nonoy scored 12 points while fellow Negros cager Rhenz Abando chipped in 10 baskets. IMT
