The cybercrime division of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is now investigating the hacking of the Iloilo City Government’s official Facebook page.

“Once the culprit is identified, we will file all criminal and civil cases against him,” Mayor Jerry Treñas said in a statement.

The page (@iloilocitygov), which has 264 thousand followers, had an unauthorized access starting on Jan. 31.

To help them recover the page, Treñas said they sought the help of the cybercrime division of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Created in 2010, the Facebook account is being managed by the city government’s Public Information Office (PIO).IMT
