Former Guimaras governor and congressman JC Rahman Nava has already begun consulting officials in the province about his possible political comeback in the 2022 elections.

In an exclusive interview on IMT Conversations, Nava said he has been endorsed by mayors to run for governor next year.

“Sige ang aton solicit sang feedbacks sang mga lideres diri sa probinsya kon ano man ang ila nga panan-awan sa sini nga pala-abuton,” he shared.

“May endorsement nga nagatulod sa aton sa pagpadalagan bilang gobernador snag probinsya. Mameet gani ako ni sa mga nagpirma para mabal-an ko kon sila gid man nagpirma,” he added.

According to Nava, nothing has been finalized yet as far as their plans for next year’s elections are concerned.

“You know we were engrossed with these problems sa COVID. Waay gid namon maistoryahan ang pulitika diri sa probinsya recently. We need to catch up kay lapit nalang ang filing of certificates of candidacy,” he said.

Should he decide to join the gubernatorial race, Nava said incumbent Vice Governor John Edward Gando will be his running mate.

Nava, who is a physician by profession, serves as a special consultant for hospital concerns of the Guimaras Provincial Government.

On the other hand, Dr. Samuel Gumarin is on his third and last term as Guimaras governor.IMT
