A mother and his son died in a fire that gutted their house in Barangay Poblacion, Leganes town, Iloilo early Friday morning, April 16.
Ana Vivien Ganon, 49, and Anthony Quin Ganon, 21, were trapped inside their duplex house when the fire broke out around 12:24 a.m., based on the Bureau of Fire Protection’s (BFP) initial investigation.
SFO4 Le M Sampiano of BFP-Leganes said the victims, whose bodies were burned beyond recognition, died of suffocation or smoke inhalation.
Anthony’s younger brother, Andrew Vince Ganon, 16, survived the fire when he jumped from the second floor window.He was brought to a hospital after sustaining burn injuries.
Aside from the house, the fire also razed the family’s car.IMT
