Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas thanked More Power and Electric Corporation (MORE Power) for providing Ilonggos with better electric power services.

MORE Power’s improved services, according to Treñas, resulted in lower electricity charges.

“It has allowed our businessmen and our residents to enjoy the low rates and set aside savings for other needs like education and health, among others,” he said.

“Affordable energy also attracts investors and creates additional jobs,” Treñas added.

The mayor noted that since July, reduced rates at around P6 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for residential, intermediate, commercial and power uses, have saved more than P3 per kWh less than the June billings.

MORE Power, the city’s sole power distributor, said the “good news” is their way of saying, “Thank you for your business and for your continued understanding and cooperation for the rehabilitation and upgrade that we are implementing towards a better, modernized but with cheap power rate distribution utility in this part of the country.”IMT
