The Iloilo City Government ordered the management of MO2 Ice to explain why it should not be held liable for the presence of a minor in their establishment.
Lawyer David Garcia of the City Legal Office said a show cause order was issued against the disco bar at Smallville Complex in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao district on Friday, Aug. 11.
The issuance of the order stemmed from a viral video showing a scantily-clothed female customer dancing provocatively before a cheering crowd.
The customer was only 17 years old and should have not been allowed to enter the bar, said Garcia.
On Tuesday, Aug. 8, MO2 Ice was shut down for violating the existing ordinance that prohibits “indecent” and “obscene” shows and performances in the city.
According to Garcia, the bar may face longer suspension of the operations or revocation of the business permit.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Hechanova, focal person of the Local Council for the Protection of Children, appealed to the public to stop sharing and reuploading the video on social media.IMT
