Majority of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in the province of Iloilo have already recovered from the deadly disease.
The province recorded on Thursday, May 7, one new recovery, bringing the total number of COVID-19 survivors to 10.
The latest recovery in the province is a 25-year-old male from the town of Barotac Nuevo.
The Department of Health (DOH-6) previously recorded the recovery of nine patients from Lambunao (4), Pavia (2), Guimbal (2), and Miagao (1).
The province has 18 confirmed cases of COVID-19. The number, which also includes four deaths, has been unchanged since April 26.
There are now only four active cases in the province.
Iloilo also registered four repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who tested positive for COVID-19. The DOH-6 counted them separately.
The infected repatriates are from Tigbauan (2), Dingle (1) and Pavia (1).
The male patient from Barotac Nuevo is one of the three new recoveries in Western Visayas reported by the Department of Health (DOH-6).
The two other patients who recovered from disease are a 28-year-old male from Bacolod City and a 44-year-old male from La Paz district in Iloilo City.
The new recoveries bring the total number of survivors in the region to 34.
The region currently has 91 cases of COVID-19 with 10 fatalities.IMT
